Great contest!

Thank you for this excellent entry. I thought it was such a clever use of the subject - every sheet of paper should be repurposed into a plane before being recycled! It is pin sharp and the exposure is spot on. Altogether a well thought out and executed entry. Congratulations on making such a simple entry really stand out.

Thank you for this beautiful entry. The black and white treatment is a good decision. I like the big expanse of foreground which adds to the remote location and the moody sky really sets the scene. The repurposing of the boats is quite brilliant and I appreciate that they have been reused out of necessity rather than just decoratively. Thank you for sharing this lovely image. Congratulations.

This contest attracted a lot of repurposed boats turned into flower containers but this one stood out both technically and because it is such a lovely, natural addition to this iconic view. The image is very well executed, the depth of field is excellent from the boat to the bridge and beyond. The balance left and right of the central palm works well too. The palette of colours is very restful making this the type of picture I would like on my wall. Well done.

I love this simple image. Although the repurposing of a milk churn to flower container isn't the most imaginative, this is supposed to be a photographic competition and this image is just perfect. It is pin sharp and the depth of field is great. Getting a correct exposure in snow is always difficult and you have achieved this well. You should be very pleased with this one. Well done.

Thank you for making me smile. I found this contest difficult to judge because I wanted to reward the technical abilities of the photographer but at the same time the subject had to be appealing. This entry excelled in both parts. Perfectly exposed, pin sharp and with a great depth of field (excuse the pun). Altogether an outstanding entry. Congratulations.

This one really stopped and made me think. Such a brilliant idea! However, this is a photographic competition and I wanted my winners to reflect this. This image is extremely sharp and beautifully exposed dealing with the reflection on the shiny boot perfectly. Thank you for a great entry and an idea that I'm sure others will copy. Well done.

I would like to see your photos that show an item that is no longer being used for the purpose it was intended but is being used instead for a different purpose. Examples would be an old rowing boat now used as a flower bed in a municipal park, bicycles used as garden ornaments, or kitchen equipment used as plant containers; anything that has found a new life. Images can be in colour or black and white. I hope you have fun with the contest.

I hesitated about this one because of the title of the contest. These reused wellies have no purpose .... except to make me laugh, and that has to be a good thing! Technically, it is sharp enough and the depth of field is good. It would have been even better if you had been able to get down to the 'dogs' level and not have cut the front ear off. However, you are forgiven because it is just such fun. Well done
