Seashore Views with Lone Figure (no lakes/rivers)

Your image caught my eye straight away. For me it is a great composition, well balanced, full of interest and perfectly timed. I love the colour of the sky against the silhouette of the figure and the rocks and the rolling in of the waves on the shore are a good contrast to the powerful spray against the rocks. At first glance it might seem that the figure is unnecessary, but it shows the scale of not only the huge cliffs, but the depth and sweep of the beach. I love the colours on the beach which contrasts well with the cliffs. Very dramatic image showing the insignificance of man in the landscape. This image is one of calm and tranquility, even though the skies are threatening. I like the position of the island, and the figure shows scale. I like the minimalist treatment that you have given this and glad that you resisted a tighter crop, the negative space contributes greatly to the effectiveness of the image. I really like your image, the crashing waves and spray against the rocks has been perfectly timed , it gives the impression the it has just knocked the bird off.. The image is composed and balanced well, the colour of the sea is very inviting and I get the feeling of isolation with just the birds for company. Of all the entries with dogs, this one was my favourite. the image is well framed and very well focused, and the colour balance is very good. The timing is perfect, and catching the dog mid stride gives it joyful look, which is enhanced by the partial reflection. I can almost see it smiling. The colours first drew me to this image, I love the magenta, orange and gold contrasted by the blacks of the rocks. Then you see the figure and realise how big these sea bolders are. There is great story telling here, you are left wondering if the tide is coming in and if the runner will be cut off! Very well composed and good postproduction that looks dramatic, but natural.
