Great contest!

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. There were a number of flower images entered, but this one caught my eye from the start. The colouring is rather vivid but I think it works well as the leaves/stalks have been left quite dark, which results in a visually appealing contrast.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. When I am browsing this site, I often see images of these beach huts and they are becoming quite a common subject. However, the selective colouring actually makes them look more interesting!

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. This image was a contender from the beginning. The building is indeed beautiful and in black and white only, I am sure this is evident. However, by using the selective colour technique, it really draws one's attention to the windows and in my opinion, creates a much stronger image than if it were just to be in monochrome/grayscale. Not all buildings are suitable for coloursplash, but this one definitely works. The colouring is not overly saturated but is vivid enough to accentuate the symmetry in this composition. It is definitely a photograph that I would display on the wall.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. This is such a joyful image creating a strong first impression, and exhibiting excellent execution. I am always in admiration of good action shots and this is a prime example.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. Although this image could be described as being a little too busy, I think it’s an interesting shot which is rather unique. There are a lot of different elements to catch one’s attention - the piles of books, the tubs to contain them and of course, the gondolier sailing by. You have taken a creative approach to the theme and I like it!

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. At first, I thought this is a good action shot but where is the relevance to the theme? On zooming in, I was able to see the subtle yellow stripe on the helmet, in stark contrast to many of the other images entered. In this case, less is definitely more.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. There were a number of flower images entered, and this is one of my favourites. I like the black and white tones; the contrast is not too strong so the level of detail has remained in tact, and the lighting applied enhances the overall image.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. There were a number of bird entries, but I think this image is one of the most delicately coloured. The low contrast background works well with the fragile looking warbler.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. I am a big fan of closeup/macro shots so this was always going to be in the top images. There were not too many food shots but from those entered, the lemon was obviously a popular choice. However, this was my favourite one - the lemon slices look good enough to eat, even those in black and white! Both lighting and level of detail is good. Well done.

For this contest please submit your photos using the selective colour technique to show only the colour yellow. The image should be black and white or grayscale, and yellow should be used to accentuate parts of it. The photo can show any subject but no insects please, and all images must have a title otherwise they will not be included in the judging.

Thank you for entering the Selective Colour - Yellow contest. The subject and theme are immediately obvious. You have created a simple, bold composition with this still life shot - no unwanted or distracting elements and the tight cropping has worked well here.
