A fabulous close-in view of the eye and ear of this delightfully woolly sheep. Focus on the eye is pin-sharp, which also shows up some great textures of the eyelashes and the fur around the eye. I love the frame-filling composition, with nothing to distract from the subjdct. Colours look nice and natural too. Congratulations on your second place finish.
I love this characterful portrait of this fine-looking sheep. Perfect focus on the wide-set eyes really draws us in to the face, which has quits a comedic look. Some may question the inclusion of the fence, but I think it adds to the shot and is also a reality of sheep-rearing in most places. The little stray blade of grass also adds to the character. Congratulations on your winning image.

This contest is for your photos of sheep. Images can show any number of sheep, whether young lambs or adults. The sheep can be close-up or in a wider landscape scene but must be a key element of the composition. Images can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your photos.
Whilst there were many fine close-up entries of sheep in this contest, this image offered a very different perspective on a field of sheep, which really caught my eye. Composition has been carefully considered, with both the standing and fallen tree well positioned in the frame. I love that the sheep are represented simply as little specks of white, randomly spaced around the field. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
