Signs of Disuse

This photograph stood out to me from the start. The perfect framing of the derelict house between the two lifeless tress is almost symmetrical but not quite, which is ideal for the subject. The colouring is wonderful. Overall it evokes a lot of emotion, especially with the story behind it.

This is such a sad image, and so perfect for this brief. As the viewer, a few potential stories come to mind, it's intriguing. It looks like the doll, which was presumably once loved and played with, is reaching out from under the snow. And it's the snow that really sets the sad scene.

This looks like a fairy tale! It calls Sleeping Beauty to mind. The building so so clearly long abandoned, and yet these signs of new life are all over it - from the plants growing all over it to the tree in the foreground. Spectacular!
