Silhouettes

A shot this sparse doesn't always work, but it really does on this occasion for me. Such an unusual and bold composition. It isn't easy to create such an interesting shot with so little. If it was staged then it is clever, if it was spontaneous then it is genius!

It is so difficult to catch a shot like this, let alone get the focus and exposure spot on. So much energy in the frame and great colour. It really makes me thirsty and want to join in the fun! Well done not wrecking the camera too!

I know where this is, so I know how difficult it is to get this shot. It's almost perfect. The sea totally contained in the railings, the lone figure on the third line, perfectly straight. The only thing I would change is the white line in the sky, presumably from an aeroplane. It would be a doddle to clone out and it did distract me a little seeing as the rest of the image is so clean. I am only picking on that because it is such a great shot though!

This another entry that was so different to the rest. I am a big fan of the digital dark room that is photoshop so I appreciate how clever the image is and how tricky it is to put together well. Wonderful tones and a really unique perspective of a well photographed landmark.

It was so hard to choose a winner but in a sea of sunsets this really stood out and I kept coming back to it. It is the colour palette and composition that make it. The browns of the grass with the blues of the backdrop are beautiful and then the silhouetted figure of the horse just makes it perfect. A stunning image.
