Great contest!

I just loved this image from first seeing it and whilst my initial thoughts about it being an obvious composite did not sit with my idea of the intentions of my brief, I found the image to be so compelling and such a fine use of ICM showing the stark contrast between the sand sea and sky I had no alternative but to highly commend the photographer for this wonderful image. Really well done, and thank you for submitting this image.

A truly incredible image that captured the brief perfectly. A stunning composition with some beautiful light. It just made me want to wander my eye right from the foreground through to the background, exploring every inch of the appealingly winding inlets of the lake and the terraced appearance of the hills so well sculpted by the light. The only thing that could have been better is actually being there myself. Congratulations and well done for placing in my top 10!

This appealing and apparently simple image truly captured my heart. From the slightly out of focus ripples on the water of the infinity pool, to the rippled shadowy reflection of the person in the water. The nice sharpness and detail in the palm hat, through to the deeper blue of the ocean and onward through the softer sky and clouds all perfectly balanced. A stunning image that just stood out for me. Congratulations on a 2nd place finish and very well done.

A stunning beautifully lit scene with the magic of some amazing colours that are reflected right through the scene in stark contrast to the mountain path on the left of the image. Nicely processed without too much harsh sharpening or overpowering textures. One can almost feel the warmth coming from the image itself. Im my humble opinion a truly great capture which deserved recognition. Congratulations.

A great image with beautiful depth capturing a truly expanding landscape with some enchanting differences in light from the foreground, through the mid ground and into the distant mountain range, and the perfect isolation of the climber on the peak in the foreground. There are a couple of annoying dust spots which are a little distracting, but these could be easily cleaned up to make this a stand out image that I would happily hang on my wall. Congratulations on a stunning image and the top 10 placing.

A really nicely composed image which has captured so much depth in the landscape that really made me want to see more of it. Unfortunately it was submitted in quite a low resolution and I was frustrated to be unable to fully explore it. The image is beautifully lit and the seemingly endless layers just add to the depth and mystery of the landscape. I was tempted to mark it down just because I felt it left me wanting. However, I that would have been unnecessarily harsh because I liked the image so much it had to be in my top 10. Congratulations and well done.

Whilst some may feel that the power lines distract from this image and may have considered removing them in post processing, Personally, I think this image is stunning. I felt that the power lines really added to the composition and I am so pleased that you were not tempted to clone them out because for me they add to its charm. The colours and apparent feeling of movement in the fields really add to the feeling of the persons movement along the path. The image is beautifully lit and just felt so nicely balanced. Well done on a top 10 placing and thank you for your submission.

Incredible! What more can I say about this image other than for me it was a perfect encapsulation of the contest brief. The somewhat, composition rule breaking, central position of the single person, in front of the majestic peak in the background, which has been bathed in light, combined with the mist covering the peaks and the beautifully lit and sharp foreground really captured my attention. The lone girl feeding her thirst for knowledge from the information board, just made me envious of the fact that she appears to have this stunning location all to herself, able to just bathe in the experience. Great shot, thank you and congratulations on a top 10 finish.

A truly stunning capture of this iconic chapel. which gives the feeling of total isolation almost as if one had travelled to the end of the world and finally reached the destination. The apparent ferocity of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful light, soft tones and colours combined with the total scene being bereft of any human presence other than the isolated person on the beach made this a stand out image for me, all with a beautiful serene softness. In my opinion, well worthy of its 1st Place. Congratulations and thank you so much.

I admired the simplicity of this image, with the really eye catching textures and details in the rocks combined with the 6 second long exposure which has smoothed out the ocean but left sufficient details in the breaking waves on the rocks and the split tone appearance of the image adds to the scene beautifully. Thank you for your submission and congratulations on the top 10 finish.

What a captivating image this is! Beautiful contrast in the rugged boulders that fill the foreground and the little girl sat on their highest point appearing to contemplate the majesty of the never-ending onslaught of the waves against the rocks, creating a lovely balanced composition. The sun flare on the left hand jagged peak which spreads diagonally across the scene right into the flares on the boulders in the foreround, all perfectly balanced, with magnificent sharpness from front to back. really made this a stand out image for me and well deserving of a 3rd place finish. Thank you so much for sharing.

This contest is for your photos that capture a single, distinguishable person within a vast and wide landscape scene. The aim is to create a stark contrast between the vastness of the landscape and the solitary figure, emphasising the scale and grandeur of the natural world. The person could be doing anything such as walking, standing, sitting, or even laying down. The important thing is that they are distinguishable and that the landscape dominates the scene. Photos can be either in colour or monochrome.

I feel that this image truly encapsulated the brief of a Single person in a Wide Landscape really highlighting the solitary figure in the foreground, through the splendour of the crater in the middle ground right across the sea to the distant islands in the background, truly showing the vastness and wonder of our wonderful world.. Well done!

I really like the stark contrast between the sand and sky in this image with the beautifully shadowed peak of the sand dune and the lone tree in the foreground. My only criticism might be that the image appears to be somewhat noisy and could have benefited from some noise reduction in post processing.. Nevertheless, I really liked this image and felt it deserved recognition so well done and thank you

I was immediately drawn to this image, but unfortunately my eyes are constantly drawn to the distracting foreground objects. Personally I would have tried moving forward slightly to try and exclude the lamp-post on the left and the railing on the right, although that may have changed the image too much. However, I can certainly see your vision. It stirs the emotions and gives off an enchanting vibe. It is a sterling effort and very well done.

I just loved this image and it made me think. "I walk the dog 5 miles a day, it is now day 50 and I am 250 miles from home" It is unfathomable to me to consider that places like this exist in our wonderful world. A great shot that really bought a smile to my face, and really lends itself well to the monochrome conversion. Thank you for brightening my day with a wonderful capture and congratulations.

Whilst the colours in this image are truly incredible it was the symmetry of the image that captured my attention, with the reflective pools in the rocks and the creative use of a long exposure to smooth out both the channel of water and the the sea just serves to add to the serene feeling of the person contemplating the beauty of the sunset.

What a fantastic place to be totally alone and at one with your thoughts. Wondering at the beauty of our wild, isolated and untamed coastlines. I felt the image was nicely framed by the trees and the foreground fauna, all of which easily leads the eye exactly where you want it to go, to the lone person in the water and through the powerful surf and onwards to the rugged coastline. Personally, I might have tried to separate the colours slightly in post processing to really make the image pop, but it does not distract from a nice composition. Thank you for sharing and congratulations,
