I just love this character everything about him just shouts out as to how much he is enjoying the day, he looks the kind of chap you could have an interesting chat with, the placement of the subject on the left hand side and the out of focus background works a treat.

I find this image to be very powerful and the mono treatment works very well as does the sharpness as well as the crop, considering the crowds present at these events I would congratulate the photographer on achieving a connection with the subject.

I find the connection and the intimacy between the two characters works very well as does the detail in the background and framing, I personally find the post - processing a little bit over done for my taste, but I do like the emotions the image invokes.

I find this image tells a great story and the location and lighting all add to the overall result. I have no idea how it was created but I love the originality behind the image, not only does the photographer have a great imagination but also the skills needed to produce such images.

To me this image pays homage to H.G. Wells, War of the Worlds with the lone survivor awaiting help and aid from the soldiers of the British Empire, A great composite image showing a high level of post - production skill and it deserves the No1 spot.

If this was just a colour image it could have been just another image taken on the path leading up to Whitby Abbey but the post - processing moves it into a different league and it deserves it's Top 10 place.

I imagine the photographer has a rapport with the subject I find the crop to be very appealing and the image is pin sharp and shows great detail in the ladies eye mask, I feel a little bit more work during post - production to iron out some of the blemishes on the skin would have helped.

I really like this mono portrait, the eye's are pin sharp and both have catchlights, the slight angle of the face adds a dynamic as does the hand on the glasses, my only reason for not putting it into the top ten is I don't feel it completely meets the brief.

I am looking forward to seeing your photos of steampunk, either people in steampunk inspired costumes or steampunk related images captured at one of the many steampunk festivals held around the world. Steampunk features modern technology with a retro look. The Steampunk aesthetic is inspired by the fashions of Victorian era in England (1837-1901), but also by the Belle Epoque in France (1871- 1914) and the civil war era in the United States (1861-1865). The clothing from these eras is often modernised by the addition of mechanical elements with gears showing. Images can be colour or monochrome.
