Still Life Art Supplies

Congratulations for being in the Top Ten! There wasn't many images submitted in monochrome, most focused on the colourful aspect that art can bring. But actually I loved this for its black and white tones as actually monochrome art itself can also be beautiful. I love the subtle shadows that fall around the sharpening, and I think your composition is great. The drawing itself could easily take centre stage in a photograph like this, but instead, the art supplies steal the show, which is great. Well done.

Congratulations on second place in my competition. The way each pencil is placed is perfection to create the shape and abstract effect that the pencils are almost bending around, which of corse, they are not. I bet this took quite a while to get perfect. I think laying them on a black background works well too. Well done.

Congratulations for Top 10. I do enjoy when people think out of the box when it comes to different ways to photograph things and I really like the use of reflection, framing and depth of field to create this image. Well done.

I love this! Congratulations for first place. It is a piece of art, of art supplies! This is something I could picture being large up on a wall in a gallery and people thinking it's striking, but also for a moment, wondering, what actually is it. The perspective of the image with having nothing else in it to refer to, almost makes each circle of paint, seem like it could be a large pot of paint on a messy floor, but yet, it isn't and is simply a paint palette. My eyes really kept going back to this one so well done.

Congratulations for making it into my top 10. I was looking for an image of a classic style still life image to take a high place in my judging and yours is the one my eye was drawn to the most. I really like how the harsher lighting has pulled out all those textures of the paint on the easel. There are a few little things that I would like to slightly critique on though, and that is that I would of loved a slight tigher crop. The extra space where you can see under the table slightly, distracts me and I feel it would look better with the image starting where the table starts. But overall create image and well done.
