Stormy Weather

I knew this would be in my #1 the moment I saw this photo, I've been dreaming for a shot like this with lightning directly above me but this is next level! The orange hues are perfect on the buildings, I am not usually a fan of completely black and white storm photos because it can take away the depth and contrast in my opinion, but this one really stands out and he perspective brings it to life., I love this image!

I love how you can see the true scale of the storm from the person standing further down the hill. I love a good picture of rain curtains especially when they pair so well with the landscape, these green and brown hill are a refreshing change from the typical blue that a lot of storms bring.

This photo immediately reminds me of one of my favorite photos that I've taken from the top of a mountain and the cascading shelf cloud over the town, it's crazy how massive these storms look from higher elevations, and the sun rays in the back are awesome!

I love the pink and orange in the rain curtains and the ground and how perfectly they pair together, I don't see a lot of photos of storms with such a pink hue. The focus on the landscape versus the sky is not what you might expect for a stormy weather theme, but it fits great!

I love storms that have lightning you can see outside the clouds, and the cloud to ground while reaching into the sky is my favorite combination. The grasses in the foreground really gives this photo another small but important detail without taking away focus on the lightning. Awesome shot!

I absolutely LOVE mammatus and a photo like this is on my bucket list. I love the cropping, I feel like in sky photos people love to cut out the ground too much but this is the perfect amount in my opinion where I can tell the landscape but my eyes are drawn to the clouds, I knew this had to be in my top ten.

I love the simplicity of the water and the structure in the middle of the water, it draws your eyes to the storm which is something I love in storm photograpahy! I love the focus being the storm clouds and the entire scene is unique from all the other submissions I have been seeing, nice job!
