This photo caught my attention for the exchange of goods that is captured at the right time. The minimal colours in the frame quite emphatically highlights the tomatoes and the lettuce, which just a tinge of colour to the frame. The garbage bin at the right end adds to the story that business is conducted in a filthy corner of the street but the photographer has made it appear beautiful.
The challenge while photographing vendors in a crowded frame is to be able to portray the object that you want to and minimise the distractions around it. The cobbler's poignant emotion is strikingly captured and attracts viewers’ attention despite so many objects in the background that could potentially distract the viewer. I was transfixed with the glint in the protagonist's aged eyes and the thread work in his hands that keeps him busy in an otherwise idle time. Nice little story could be imagined behind the photo of an old man who does not look in best of his health yet toils hard to earn his livelihood. The photographer's decision to keep it monochrome hits the bull’s eye.

This is a brilliant picture and tells a riveting story in just one click. The little girls appear to listen inquisitively to the old man in the rains. The tiny details like the boy holding the umbrella to protect the old man from the rain, the girl holding the umbrella delicately and the dripping rain has been magnificently captured. The veggies and the green building throw the required colours in the photo.
