Street With One Single Person

An excellent example of minimalist street photography, in which all three main elements of this technique are present: colors, shapes and shadows. Elements that blend together. The character, who has a blue shirt, moves towards a vertex of a triangle of red brick floor, whose three sides are made up of two lines of light brick, and in the part closest to us from the shadow of an architectural structure .

Congratulations on this wonderful minimal street photography. The setting is nocturnal. A person walks along the illuminated sidewalk (we are in a railway station in Japan), we only see the silhouette of him, while his shadow is projected far forward. Another strong point of the photo is the low wall that cuts the image in two, with a perfect diagonal.

This black and white photo seems to want to tell us a story. The theme of the competition is "one-person street", but here we can say we have two people, even if one is a mural. The contrast of the two faces was very successful. Everyone can give their own interpretation. Personally I have the impression that the woman is sending a warning to the man, such as "if you go out, be careful what you do". The composition of the image is perfect, as is the rendering of black and white.

I was pleasantly impressed by this street photo, which was taken at the perfect moment. A boy is walking without looking in front of him, probably busy reading the latest news from some social media on his smartphone. Behind it there is a large advertising poster with a part of a famous painting by Caravaggio. The painting is that of the arrest of Jesus, who is currently receiving the kiss from Judas. Thanks to the skill of the photographer, one gets the impression that Jesus is detached from events, and instead interested in what the boy is looking at on his smartphone. Great shot!
