Stripes

This image, so patriotic and dynamic, immediately stood out from the rest in the contest. The motion blur is a clever choice: it helps the shot convey a huge amount of energy and dynamism that wouldn't have easily come across in a perfectly sharp photograph. It's enough to make the image interesting and visually appealing, concealing potentially distracting elements such as the background, but not too much that the subjects become indistinguishable. A fantastic capture that deserves first place. Well done!

This is definitely one of those images that makes you stop scrolling and want to zoom in to take in everything that's going on. The first thing that I applaud about this shot is the composition. I love how the pool is positioned diagonally across the frame, and that the photographer chose to also include the surroundings, adding context and even more interest to the shot. Great contrast and perfect sharpness are the finishing touches. A very interesting and well-captured image. Well done!

Many images of Red Arrows were submitted to this contest, but not many were well captured quite like this one. The aircrafts, caught in a perfect pattern, look well in focus, and the colourful smoke trails swoops down and upwards towards the corner of the frame, creating a pleasing composition and an interesting layer of colour in the foreground. A wonderful capture - well done!
