**Open to photographers with a ranking outside the top 1000. There are two other 'Textures and patterns' contests currently open to other ranks. Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** Textures and patterns are a great way to add a new dynamic to your photography and can be found just about everywhere. Patterns or repeated shapes can be used as the main subject of your photo, or perhaps as a backdrop to something else. You can even go macro or abstract if you want to get really creative and hone in on the textured element. Think outside the box!
