First of all thank you for entering the '1980's' competition and for entering such a great image. Secondly, congratulations on finishing in the judges top 10, a well deserved place.
This reminds me of my living room floor after my kids have played lego - it makes me shudder. But...I really like this image because I admire your patience to pull this image together. This isn't just a pile of 1980's lego, it's a carefully curated colourful masterpiece. Lots of fond 1980's childhood memories are stirred when I see the components of this image.
Thank you again, congratulations and keep taking great images. All the best, Martin.

I really like this image because not only is the subject a fit for the era but the way you have processed and delivered the image with lifted blacks and de-saturated colour tones gives a great retro feel. Great work.

There were many toy/model images presented but this stood out by far. The detail and accuracy is superb, superbly presented with a minamilist feel allowing you to focus on Freddie, the Live Aid Symbol and the Piano.

I love this image. It helps that the 911 was one of my 80's childhood dream cars and I like/ admire car photography. This image is superb, a great quarter composition on the car, fantastic garage/warehouse setting and lighting. You are clearly a fantastic car photographer who knows what you are doing in the world of car photography and I thank you for the details on how it was achieved. A great slice of the 1980's superbly presented.

I really like this image because, well I love group B rally cars, particularly the Audi's. I think this one was one of the earlier A2 varients, before Audi went crazy with the downforce skirts on the S1 and E2 models. Anyway, on a photographic level you have captured a sharp image with plenty of motion, I love the lean and grip of the car. A superb motorsport shot of a 1980's classic.

A classic 1980's film icon, I remember seeing this film as a kid and it frightening the life out of me! Superbly captured, fantastic lighting and a perfect subject for a 1980's competition. The quality is excellent.

I really like this image because, well who doesn't love the 80's iconic film Ghostbusters. Very on trend with the re-release of the franchise coming. Technically it isn't perfect, but I love the motion and era correct colour tones presented. This image captured my attention and I had to have it in my top 10.

I really like this image because you've adred to be different and delivered a very quirky image. The retro era correct wallpaper, lamp and record/magazine stand come together brilliantly to provide a captured era in time. I also like the shapes presented which are mirrored in the wallpaprt. It's just a shame the lamp wasn't plugged in.
Thank you again, congratulations and keep taking great images. All the best, Martin.
First of all thank you for entering the '1980's' competition and for entering such a great image. Secondly, congratulations on finishing in the judges top 10, and for coming 1st, a well deserved win.
I really like this image because there are so many things that draw me to it. The bright vivid colours, the on brief retro subjects, the composition, the lack of subjects face and finally the way the image has been delivered producing a very 80's retro feel. The mysterious person sat here could be a child or an adult, it doesn't matter - but it tells a great story of an era gone by...the 1980's.
Thank you again, congratulations and keep taking great images. All the best, Martin.
