I love the semi-abstract nature of this image, which demands a second look to fully understand the scene. Composition is great, with all key elements well balanced in terms of position and their size within the frame. The angle of view works well, adding to the abstract and the diminishing perspective pulling the eye up the frame. A good balance of tones too. Congratulations on your winning image.
A back street in Oslo providing something a liittle different in architectural style and character from the more modern or futuristic buildings that tend to dominate architecture contests. I like the viewpoint, looking up the street as it curves away from view, giving no hint as to what lies beyond. Although in black and white, we get a sense that the walls are likely painted different colours, and the tones and textures captured are lovely. Ths inclusion and placement of the atteactive street lamp adds to the scene too. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
A fantastic image making the most of the structure of the building, through excellent use of light and shadow fully showing off all the wonderful curves and lines of the architecture. There is great depth to the subject, with textures in ths stonework nicely captured too. A great dramatic image, congratulations on your third place finish.

A fabulous architectural shot, precisely composed and aligned to present the vertical and horizontal lines perfectly squared, adding to the strength of the shot. Lighting is good, with a great range of tones from deep sadow to bright highlights. There is no obvious focal point, but there is so much for the eye to explore as it wanders around the frame. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the angle from which this image has been shot, creating a more dynamic subject than a straight-on view would be. The image looks to have been captured from a less attractive entrance to the complex, maybe a back entrance to the car park or similar, but that adds a certain grit and interest to the scene. The lone figure provides a narrative, and it is up to the viewer to decide the who and the why of the story of this individual. Great tones in the black and white too. Congratulations on your second place finish.
