Walking the Dog

March 2019

I liked this image the moment I saw it. The composition is perfect. I particularly like the fact the F number is low, thus keeping the dog's face in focus and blurring the background containing the dog walker and that all-important red dog lead, leading from the walker's hands to the dog. Lovely. Many thanks for entering.

A standout image for me. I think the composition is spot on and I particularly like the processing used here, including the soft overtones. You caught it at just the right moment with the dog turning round and probably wondering what was taking you so long! Very nice and many thanks for entering.

This contest is for photos showing people out walking their dogs. Try to capture that special relationship people have with their dogs as they are out walking. Entries can be in either colour or black and white. I am looking forward to seeing what images you come up with.

My type of image. It works brilliantly in black and white with just enough detail coming through in the darker areas. That said, I particularly like the lighter horizontal area running across the centre of the image against which the dog walkers are perfectly silhouetted. Perfect. Very nice and many thanks for entering.

This image made me smile. It suggests a degree of cheekiness on the part of the hound concerned - "I will follow when I am good and ready and not before". The composition is perfect with the head of the dog occupying the lower right hand half of the frame. Brilliantly observed and you caught it at just the right moment! Many thanks for entering.

Composition is perfect on this image and I particularly like the monochrome processing used here which works perfectly. The suggestion here for me is that there is an implicit understanding between dog and master in that "Wherever you go, I will faithfully accompany you". It speaks a thousand words. What else can I say? Well done and many thanks for entering.

There is a certain bleakness and starkness that I very much like about this image. Whilst I feel it tells a story, it does not tell the whole story but rather leaves a number of questions unanswered the likes of which I will leave the viewer to further ponder upon. I think it works very well in black and white and the fact you appear to have softened it slightly adds to its appeal for me. Well done and many thanks for entering.

What a lovely picture. It says it all. There is an evident warmth of the relationship between the animals and their human counterparts, which is plain to see and which has been perfectly captured here. Beautifully composed...I'm not sure what else I can say? Wonderful and many thanks for entering.
