Winter minimalism

A beautiful and striking winter image, perfect composition and the exposure in the white of the snow and greys of the mist together with the icy branches provides a wonderful chilly atmospheric feel. The tree looks sad and lonely but the image catches the eye and made me smile each time I reviewed it. Congratulations a worthy winner

Mother nature and winter portrayed at its best... the perfect positioning of the woodpecker on the left of the frame and the driving blizzard providing movement through the negative space in the image makes it stand out. Congratulations fabulous image

Thanks for entering this wonderful image it made me smile each time I saw it in the judging screens, this image should be entered into one of those caption competitions as it conjured up so many thoughts... The minimalism and winter conditions are portrayed well but its the penguins that are the stars of the show great shot well done

I loved the windswept nature of this shot and the left aligned composition providing wonderful wintery negative space. The fence leading off into the distance leaves the viewer wondering whats over the hill, a really great winter image thanks for sharing

I particularly like the moody nature of this image... wonderful winter conditions, great composition with the chapel in the lower section of the frame, plenty of negative space and the moody skies with the light edging in from the left of the screen gives it great atmosphere, would have been perfect with a bit of light on the chapel but a fabulous image none the less

Eleven perfect trees in the snow what can I say... Awesome minimal composition. The contrasting black and white and the precise separation of the trees in the lower half of the frame create a simple yet eye catching image great job well done

I really liked this shot and kept coming back to it, it was so close to getting a commended but I felt the crop wasn't right, slightly clipping the top of the tree branches and too wide with the black container on the right distracting my eye away from the simplicity of the tree. A great image in need of a few tweaks but thanks for entering
