Great contest!

This is a good photo. It is very sharp and it's subject is positioned well. The plain background keeps the focus on the athlete. The lack of other contestants or other observers indicates that this may not be a competitive event (even though very athletic) so I felt I could not rate this photo higher. It is a potential winner in other contests.

The focus of this photo is where it should be and the framing is great. I do wonder if it would not be stronger if it was in color. I did not lower the rating because of that but the belt color is always interesting. in this sport Great photo!

This is a great Photo. It is very sharp and it's subject is positioned well. The sport is well defined. The background is out of focus which keeps the focus on the athlete. It is a winner with such competitive spirit and focus Your use of a fast lens and higher ISO keeps the focus on the face without losing the "focus" on the ball. Great use of depth of field. While the lighting conditions in the court may have been difficult, the shadow and highlights define the subject. Congratulations!

What a great shot! This is a picture of a great competitor. It is well framed and in clear focus. The emotion is very apparent and expresses the thousands of hours such competitors dedicate to win. This is what great sports photography is all about. The black background creates the mood for the celebration that is in her whole body. I know that some publications do not want modify these pictures, but if it was for my use, I would have removed the green diagonal on the left. That is a minor issue for this great picture of a winner. Congratulations!

This is a great Photo. It is very sharp and it's subject is positioned well. The sport is well defined. The background is out of focus which keeps the focus on the athlete. The lack of other contestants or other observers indicates that this may not be a competitive event (even though very athletic), butI felt I had to rate this photo. It is a winner with such competitive spirit and focus Two things that I would do to make this a better competitive photo would be to remove the logo and add better description of where and how this photo was taken.

I have started to photograph lacrosse the last two years and find it hard to get the emotion that this photo has. After looking at this for inspiration, I see one reason why. Safety equipment now hides some of the dynamics that are present in this wonderful photo.. The angle and physicality of these two make you want to watch more of the sport. Framing and strong focus make this a contest winner. Congratulations!

This photo makes you worry about both the horse and the rider. The dynamics of the situation and the tension that good sports photography needs to show are very much present here.. The setting is well defined, but remains in the background with the use of the aperture while the horse and rider are in great focus. I think I would have cropped some from the right. but otherwise the subject framing is excellent. Congratulations!

When judging a photo, I consider factors such as composition, lighting, focus, creativity, and emotional impact. I also take into account the technical aspects of the photo, such as exposure, sharpness, and color balance. Your composition (the way that the elements of the photo are arranged within the frame) has a clear focal point, a balanced distribution of visual weight, and a pleasing overall arrangement of elements.
Your lighting dramatically affects the mood and atmosphere of the photo. It is an effective use of natural bright light to create depth, contrast, and texture. Your focus is another critical aspect of the photo, as it makes the overall quality of the image. It is sharp and well-focused, with a clear subject that is in focus. It shows a high degree of skill and technical proficiency. Finally, emotional impact is an essential factor that I consider when evaluating a photo. A great photo will evoke a strong emotional response from the viewer, whether it is joy, sadness, awe, or any other powerful emotion. This photo shows the competitive spirit of the sport.

This photo would have been rated higher than this if it was not cropped the way it is. I think that the photo loses a slight edge by not including the lower part of the chairs and some space on either side. That said, it still is a winning photo. The competitive tension is absolute and the black and white masks add to this. It made me look up the outcome of the sport and Hong Kong won 7 medals.. Congratulations on a fine photo.
