I love this view of Bolton Abbey. It has a lovely painterly feel about it. The composition with the large amount of negative space in the bottom left corner is effective at drawing the eye, first to the stepping stones then to the abbey itself. a very interesting sky adds to the overall effectiveness of the image. Congratulations on your top ten place and thanks for entering
Congratulations on your first place. One of Yorkshire's iconic views, with a stunning capture. There were many great images entered into this competition, unfortunately a very high number did not meet the brief of include a human figure, thank you for doing that, they certainly enhance the image, giving us a sense of scale, and making us feel that we are on the top of the world. You have very cleverly put a large amount of limestone pavement n close up which keeps the image from being too busy. The suns rays coming out the stormy clouds directs the eye to the sunlight hills. Lots of interest and great timing. Thanks for entering.
This to me sums up what Yorkshire is all about. Living here you have to accept that we are going to have a lot of rain. But that seldom stops anything. There was such a lot of excitement about the Tour de Yorkshire across all of Yorkshire, and this image perfectly captures that and the spirit of Yorkshire folk determined to have a good time. Thank you for an evocative image and congratulations on your top ten place.
I had to include an image of steam trains at Grosmont, and this is a brilliant capture. I like your postprocessing on this, it looks like a painting. The steam has been captured very well adding lots of interest , as do the people in the image, although small add a lot of life. I particularly like the driver with his head out of the cabin. Congratulations on your top ten place and thanks for entering.
A great image full of energy and life. I like the wide angle and the fact that you have made it look as if the pier is never ending. The yellow child's coat brings in a nice pop of colour, but the placement in the bottom right hand corner means that it does not dominate the scene. A happy pictures that showcases Yorkshire's glorious coast, Thank you for entering and congratulations on your top ten place.
No collection of images about Yorkshire would be complete without a brass band, and I love this unusual capture. Rather than waiting until they were playing and marching the laid back player in this image looks as if he is enjoying relaxing whilst waiting for the parade to start. A great documentary image, Thank you entering and congratulations on your top ten place.

What is Yorkshire without sheep? This image will bring a smile to everyone who has been stuck in a sheep jam. It is a great composition, a nice S curve in the road, sets off the bracken covered hill side on the left and the stone wall on the right. All elements are nicely balanced to highlight the sheep, tractor and the dog. A great image that is also fun. Thank you for entering it and congratulations on your top ten image.

A nice view of Whitby steps, bought alive with people enjoying the town. To me pictures of Whitby without people are soulless, it is a town to explored and enjoyed. Your image perfectly captures this. The position from up the steps gives a great depth the image and allows us to see through the buildings to the rest of the town. A more unusual view that is interesting and effective. Thanks for entering and congratulations on your top ten place.
I particularly like this portrait view of the beach at Whitby. The aspect has enabled you to captures a lot of the beach and sky which frames the harbour wall. There is a lots of interest in this image and great timing, enabling you to include the donkeys. A lovely image perfectly portraying the Yorkshire seaside. Thank you for entering it and congratulations on your top ten place.

The cobbles on Haworth's Main Street, perfectly compliments the English bizarreness that is Morris dancing.. Although performed all over the country, it is a perfect fit with Yorkshire eccentricity, and brings colour and life to this most Yorkshire of towns. (try seeing it on a bleak rainy winters day devoid of people). The composition is very pleasing and I like that you can see the back of the accordion player and the detail on his hat. A lively joyful image. Congratulations on your top ten place and thank you for entering.
