There were so many stunning images entered into this contest, it was very, very hard to pick my favorite photos out of everybody else's favorite photos.
This one is by far my favorite. Red is my favorite color and my eye is absolutely delighted in how you got this stunning, high quality photo at such an angle, with such clarity on the waterdrops. The focus only on one part of the petal is a pure gem of a photo.
I'll say again, absolutely stunning and congratulations on 1st place!

I've always been a huge fan of brightly colored flowers, with waterdrops on them, against a black background. I've tried taking some photos like this but I don't have a good quality lens that lets me get such a close up shot, or the waterdrops don't stay nicely on the flower, or I can't find a good looking flower. Or the lighting is awful.
How you got all these key factors to play together in this stunning photo I can't imagine. The flower is amazing with that lighting on it, the waterdrops in perfect clarity, such high quality photography. Great job!
This is one of my favorite lion portraits. The lion rests his paw dangling over the edge of the rock, staring straight into the camera, engaging you and compelling you to meet his gaze.
The colors of the regal beast are stunning while the lighting is amazing, and the blurred rocks and trees in the background really make a lovely touch, as well as the beautiful rock that the King is reclining on himself. It's a photo to be proud of.
This photo is a true gem. It's absolutely hilarious and there isn't much other explanation other than that. The gull on the left seems super angry, yelling at his wife while she looks sarcastically back at him, taunting him silently with her beady eyes.
The soft blues of the ocean in the background are a really lovely touch, while the lighting is amazing. Great job!
I wonder how you were able to catch such an awesome angle of these planes. It's almost as if you were taking the photo from a helicopter or something.
Anyway, the angle is perfection and catching these trim Navy planes in show-off action with their clouds of steam behind, must have been a real blast. I love the quality of the photo and the lighting is great!
I am not a huge fan of frogs, though I do think tiny frogs are cute to hold stickily in my hand when I find them under something. I do know when I see a good (or in this case, a perfect) photo of a frog.
I kept coming back to this image often. It started out as a HC and then got put in Top 10, then as I kept looking at it it was re-arranged to high up in the Top 10.
Though it looks like the image is cleverly flipped to show the reflection, this is such a stunning image. How you caught this frog in such perfect lighting in such a great position and at this angle, I have no idea. However, it's simply perfect to me! The lighting and quality are amazing and the bright colored frog amongst black and grays is just spectacular. Great job and congratulations!
I for some reason love arial shots of castles, if the castles are a bit away and not taking up most of the shot. Of course I love other photos of castles but photos like this one really engage me.
What I particularly LOVE is the light dusting of snow on everything like a soft coating of sugar over everything. The fog rolling in, obscuring parts of the photo lightly, is amazing, while the high and steep mountains with the trees on it is so beautiful.

This photo caught my eye instantly. I'm so drawn to the perfect waterdrops photographed in such amazing clarity. Seeing such stunning colors and waterdrops like that almost makes me thirsty, my soul sighs with delight over this amazing photo.
The close up angle, cutting out parts of the dragonfly, couldn't be better with a lesser crop. It's perfect. The background, with contrasting colors, is amazing, and the lighting is phenomenal. Great job!!
I love good long-exposure photographs and long to get good one myself. But there aren't any good place to get any and I don't have a filter for day-time photography with long exposure. My former attempts at night-time turn out awful, even with a steady tripod.

I love photos of the aurora borialis and this is another absolutely stunning photo that I have had the pleasure of seeing!! The lighting and quality are spectacular and I LOVE the lit houses and village on the water's edge, reflecting in the water, while being nestled at the foot of the mountain.
The clear and bright, beautiful northern lights pair beautifully with the soft clouds and the sparkling stars. Great job!
