This is the winning image for me because of the simplicity in its abstraction. The detailed framing of the walls and intersecting angles of the pueblo architecture are beautifully captured in this image. It reminds me of the work of the great photographer Paul Strand, from his New Mexico series. Also the photographers choice to make the image black and white was correct; normally i'm more a fan of colour images, but the subtle grey tones are perfect. Wonderful!
I love the simplicity of this photograph and the elegance of the rain drops on the windscreen. The minimal colour palette is beautiful and good that the photographer kept the image in colour rather than the obvious choice of converting a photograph made on a grey day into B&W. The framing is perfect and the focus on the rain drops gives a wonderful and dreamlike feeling to the image. Personally, I love photographs through car windows (like Lee Friedlander) and the evocative feelings they create.
I'm not normally a fan of photographs taken by drones, but this image has changed my opinion! (presuming it is from a drone..?) The framing is absolutely perfect, the flatness of the perspective and parallel lines of the sides of the pier with the frame edges is excellent, and very accomplished. I also particularly love the colours in the photograph, its actually incredibly abstract although its clear what its a photograph of. A very successful image!

Changing the perspective on anything that we come into contact with on an everyday basis can be a refreshing and surprising way to liven up your photos. Architecture, in particular, lends itself to beautiful abstract shots thanks to its scope, variety of shapes and inherent drama. Get creative, and don’t underestimate the value of post-production.
I love this photograph of Blackfriars bridge, and cooincidentally i've taken almost the same photograph myself. The iron girder engineering below the bridge is a thing of absolute beauty. But the only reason this image didn't rank higher in this competition is because of the framing, its just not precise enough. For such a minimal and geometrical image, the framing has to be perfect. So unfortunately this photograph needs to be slightly reframed. The red pillars on the left side are converging vertically and distract (the way red objects always do) and also the bottom of the framing is slightly distorted, perhaps due to a wide angle lens. But the concept for the photograph is great, and very nearly absolutely perfect!
