Nice framing of this image by the photographer to juxtapose the two elements of sand and water in a diagonal composition. The stillness of the grain in the sand against the silky flow of the water enhance the viewers realisation of this scene that contrast nicely, as was the photographers intention, making for a pleasing abstract waterscape.

The riot of colour in this image make for a beautiful example of abstract waterscape. There appears to be many elements to this reflection from the surrounding scene which have combined nicely to catch this photographer's eye in the moment and then being able to capture it.

Autumn, arguably a landscape photographers favourite season. This image is a delightful reflection of the remaining colour of silver birch trees with stand out white trunks cascading down into the water, this image is enhanced by the red leaves on the lone tree as a focal point to lead the eye in and along the shoreline until you notice the greens of the trees from the higher ground in the reflection.

A striking and coherent image with wonderful composition from an aerial perspective and great use of a drone. The green of the water compliments the brown reeds with a subtle hint of red piping outlined on the wooden jetty and platform, contrasted with the aqua blue of the boat that draws your eye. A very well balanced and thoughtful image making for delightful viewing, the detail is incredible, especially in the wood grain.with nice subtle colours to boot that make up this abstract waterscape.

Wow, what a fabulous image. Yet again another image from an aerial perspective making great use of a drone. The sunken sand banks making for an underwater backdrop for the boats floating above moored to buoys, light catching the ripples on the water bringing out the detail, make for such a great image and abstract waterscape.

The portrayal of simplicity in this image is what makes it work. The diagonal of the sand bar aesthetically draw your eye towards the moored boat and shadow making for a really nice aerial composition. I for one certainly was not expecting the top three photographs to be made from a drone for this brief of abstract waterscapes, but they are and i'm feeling so refreshed.

At first glance this image looked more like a drawing than a photograph, the reflection of a floating flower market on a canal in Amsterdam. I really like the way the window shapes warp and become twisted and out of shape and then the cutting water line displaying the flower market below.

Waterscapes aren’t all waterfalls and glossy lakes. There are lots of creative opportunities for abstract shots with water, whose ripples, waves and reflections provide countless opportunities for unusual or out-of-context shots. Play with the settings on your camera to experiment with different effects. Have fun.

A nice attempt of the ICM technique at sunset for this abstract waterscape, just needed a bit more handheld movement in the sky to work as cohesively forming the different parts of the whole image that would fit and sit together as one.
