Thank you for entering the “Anything Related to Handwriting” contest.
This is another image that I decided would be in the top ten on first viewing. The colours are balanced and not overly saturated, thus illustrating an harmonious overall appeal.
I like the way the objects have been organised, not too many either, therefore they are not competing for the viewer’s attention. The composition is enhanced by the shallow depth of field. Well done!

As soon as I saw this image, I knew it would be in the top ten. There seems to be a story here as I know the title relates to a film, but even if this were not the case, there is undoubtedly a sadness in finding a torn up letter on the ground. The letter is clearly the centre of interest and filling the frame has emphasised this; I like the way it’s nestled under the brown and gold leaves.
Including fewer objects and keeping it simple makes this image more effective - no distracting background to contend with. Well done!

Please submit your photos of anything related to handwriting. Writing is the process of using symbols (letters of the alphabet, punctuation and spaces) to communicate thoughts and ideas in a readable form. Examples could be pens, pencils, letters, cards, pages from diaries, calligraphy, signs and notices. All images must relate to the hand, so that means no printed matter such as newspapers, books, road signs, shop signs etc., unless written by hand. People may be included if someone is holding or using a writing implement. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I have excluded images of graffiti because this type of handwriting is frequently featured in other contests.
