Beaches in Black and White

Congratulations to the author for this splendid photo, which has a superb rendering of black and white. The silhouettes of the two characters and the dog stand out against the lighter area of the photo. The dark mountain in the background, bordered by light areas, helps to give the image a balance between light and dark areas.

An extraordinary dark image, with a high contrast,dominated by a series of zigzag lines created by the waves. The beach is represented by a black area, while a person walks on the shoreline. Black and white is essential for the success of this photo. Congratulations to the author of this masterpiece.

Another splendid aerial image of a beach, where the transformation into black and white creates an evocative atmosphere. Congratulations to the photographer, who does not abuse black colors in the conversion, but uses a whole series of grays. Perfect the presence of people and dogs.

Among many beautiful photos of deserted beaches, I liked to include this image of cabins. I find that the conversion to black and white is excellently achieved, and also the sky and the sea, with their lack of definition, contribute to giving the photo an atmosphere of almost surreal calm, it almost gives the impression that time has stopped.

This photo is enhanced by the high observation point, which allows to insert in the image the different areas of the shoreline wet by the waves. This creates a texture of diagonal lines, in which some people move in long distances. Even this image is undoubtedly enhanced by black and white.

I have nothing against post production that modifies the images, but usually I see it more suitable for themes that are not landscape related. In this case, however, I particularly appreciate the creation of areas with ablur effect, which help the eye to focus on the heart of the image, the shore with the two people.

On this Australian beach, the tide has receded leaving countless pools of water, which thanks to the excellent transformation into black and white, create a really interesting texture. The person with the dog is the vital center of the image, and contributes to its excellent success.

What a beautiful image this, with its dark atmosphere, and with these characters so small that walk alongside the dunes. I find the title "lost paradise" really suitable for this image. The light effect on the dune is also excellent, with one part shaded and one illuminated.
