There is nothing subtle about this edit, and neither should there be. This not not mean that it is a crude composite by any means. The elements all fit together very well and are very well colour matched. It has an otherworldly fairytale feel about it and is totally believable, in a slightly surreal way. From a still, unremarkable image, you have created one full of movement and drama. He colour of the sky is a nice contrast to the tree and ground and I like the limited colour palette, the birds use bring the image to life. It gives me very much the feel of the storm sequence in The Band Concert - Micky Mouse, one of my favourite cartoons. Thank you for entering and congratulations on your first place.

This image really caught my imagination. I love the subtle colour palette and the way that you have taken a beautiful serene image and turned it into a mad hatters surreal piece of art. The way that you have positioned the hat gives the feeling that the back of the crown of the hat perfectly lines up with the horizon of the landscape. The merging of images is very well done with different levels of transparency that gives great depth I like it very much. For this contest I would love to see your before and after images of one of your landscape photos that has been edited in a creative or imaginative way. Images can be taken at any time of the day and may include people, animals and manmade structures but please only enter wider landscape scenes, no close-ups. Edited images must be shown side by side with the original photo. PHOTOCROWD RULES REMINDER: All the elements of submitted images (including skies) must have been shot by the photographer entering the contest. It is not permitted to use other images taken from the web, stock libraries or from within photo editing software.

Meet the judge
What a fun and imaginative image. It is very cleverly done and it is easy to imagine that a flock of sheep have just wandered down onto the station and been photographed there. The images have been merged very skilfully and well colour matched. The small detail of the image of the sheep on the electronic advertising board adds that extra special touch.
