Street photography is all about picking out moments of curious alignment – where aspects of a coincidence come together in a way that feels staged. This image perfectly captures the candid atmosphere of observation. We love the subject selection, with the appealing colour continuity between the woman's coat, her flask and the painted wall behind her. Nicely spotted and constructed.

In a busy environment, such as this festival, it can be tricky to select one moment to isolate. The photographer has clearly scanned the crowd for shots which capture the mood of the event and this image nicely conveys the emotion of the subjects. The colours all pop too, which draws us into the celebratory tone of the scene.
The choice to convert or shoot this image in black and white is an effective one. It strips away the distraction of colour and allows us to focus on the moment of action. The frame is perfectly timed to capture the silhouette of the girl outlined against the brighter tones of the water, and the arc of sea spray. Well composed and considered.
