A striking and creative image, the impact coming from the simplicity of the composition. Excellent use of the light and shadows, we get a real sense of the sunbather baking in the hot sun. With just two main elements in the shot, some may find it lacks interest, but the simplicity adds to its strength and it becomes an image that has the ability to hold the attention. The digital border may be a tad wide, but I guess that comes down to personal taste, and it maybe helps contain the subject. The title of the image adds a lovely quirky touch. A worthy winner, congratulations

Whilst the subject is simple, just grass and white chairs, there is something about the random placement of chairs that creates an image that is fascinating to view. The shadows add another element and help 'ground' the chairs to prevent them looking like they are floating. It adds to the success of the shot that you have not included any other elements, such as sky, paving or building at the top of the image, and all the chairs have sufficient space around them to prevent them looking chopped off; not always an easy thing to do when trying to compose a shot from some randomly scattered objects no doubt left in place by others and shot as found. The viewer is just left to create their own story as to the purpose of the chairs and what the sitters would have been watching.

A simple scene, but well photographed to create an image full of interest and detail. The tatty seat covers and worn paint on the plasterwork have some great textures that create interest throughout. I am not sure whether the scene is staged or as found, but having one chair tilted back against the wall breaks up the row in a good way. Lovely use of colour in the contrasting pinks and golden yellows.
A super abstract image using the strong shadows cast by the bright sunlight to maximum advantage. The gentle curves of the bench and corresponding shadows are pleasing on the eye, and the limited colour palette compliments the simplicity of the composition. Well framed, keeping focus fully on the subject, with no distractions, adding further to the abstract feel.
A beautiful capture of a simple but beautiful chair, I like also that it is not immediately obvious exactly what else is in in the frame, whether we are looking through glass beyond etc. The colouring of the image overall is very attractive, with the chair subtly reflecting those colours, looking almost pearlescent. The chair is the obvious subject, but it has been well framed within the composition to avoid being a static record shot of just a chair.

Some may see limited potential in some rows of plastic chairs, but the way you have captured the scene here has created a delightful image. By including many rows, there is good depth to the shot, and the eye is drawn into the frame through the diminishing perspective as the chairs become more numerous and smaller as they receed. The hotch-potch of colours prevents the image looking staged, and whilst the colours are rich and bold, you have avoided any temptation to ramp up the saturation, which could have resulted in a gawdy look. Instead we have a superbly colourful image, with plenty of interest to hold the attention, amongst the rows of what could be considered mundane plastic chairs. The square crop works well and adds an abstract feel to the shot.
A fantastic abstract photo of two simple modern chairs. The style of chair chosen for a shot such as this is perfect, with the clean minimalist shapes and lines and the gentle curves. The colours, with the bold yellow and crisp white also serve well. Such a simple composition, but clearly well thought out, and very well executed, especially with regard to the balance of the lighting, as we have just enough shadow to reveal form and depth, but otherwise no areas of deep shade to distract or lose detail. Stunning abstract, well done.
A bold black and white shot, looking to have been captured in the harsh sunlight in the middle of the day, with bright highlights and sharp, deep shadows. Aside from the seating in the foreground, you have been successful with the placement of the two individuals in the mid-distance, both framed by the structures surrounding them, almost creating pictures within the picture overall. I would have been inclined to clone out the tiny pieces of foliage peeping into the top left corner of the frame, but still a superb clean, bold and contrasty capture.
By using the complementary colours of red and green, you have created an eye-catching image. The composition works well with the edges of the chairs running on a pleasing diagonal across the frame. The dappled shadows on the plastic wickerwork adds interest, and brings to mind relaxing in the cooling shade on a summer day. The subject being chairs is clear, but the image has a lovely abstract feel too.

We spend a lot of our lives taking the weight off, and reclining or perching on one of these. They can be simple slabs of wood, or elegantly crafted designs, and many a great architect has felt moved to create an iconic chair to form part of their legacy. Whether you’ve photographed a Mies van der Rohe ‘Barcelona’ chair, or a 50 year old sofa that’s rotting in a skip, let’s get exploring the varied world of seats.

I love this image and it was close to a top ten placing. Where I think the image could have had more impact to enhance the abstract would be if the back three rows were cropped off to remove the dark space behind the chairs (or instead adoped a slightly higher viewpoint at the point of capture). This would remove the slight distraction, and fill the frame with these simple but elegantly shaped chairs, in neat mesmerising rows. Still a great shot that I like a lot.
This shot was in and out of my awarded entries a few times, but in the end it earned a commendation. What I am unsure about is the red streaking running down the image, that partially obscrures some gorgeous shadows from the decorative seating. I am unsure whether you are maybe shooting through glass and the red is a reflection of sorts, or whether some type of effect has been added in processing. Whichever, on balance I kind-of like it, even though I don't know what it is!
I love the colour contrasts here, between the golden yellow of the walls and the blue of the shutters. Good capture of the textures and marks of use and wear on the wall; I am slightly curious as to what has caused the marks below the window. The little chair, although small, remains a strong focal point. (I have ignored the digital dignature across the photo which does tend to distract and draw the eye from fully admiring the photographic work). Still a great shot.
One of the things I love about this image is that it looks so natural, which further conveys a mood a quiet and calm. So many entrants seemed to be overzealous with the image-editing sliders and the resulting images looking heavy and garish, losing the freshness. Here however, despite the misty weather, I get a real sense of a breath of fresh air looking at the shot. A great capture of a beautiful peaceful spot in which to sit and relax as the world speeds on by.
A great capture of this wonderful seaside structure, no doubt becoming less commonplace around the coasts as they fall into disrepair. Looking at the seating, it seems ironically appropriate for these current times, with its inbuilt social distancing partitions to keep people from diffrent households apart! The central composition works well and adds to the mundanity of the shot, which I love. Whilst it would maybe have been nice to see nothing in the background except railings and sea/sky to keep things even more minimalist, it is also nice to catch a little glimpse of the town around the bay.
This type of abstract image does not appeal to everyone, but I think it is great. Some may feel there is nothing of interest to look at, but somehow by being so little in the scene, there becomes more to explore; really a case of less is more! I love the imperfection of the distant bench with its missing slat, and the difference in the two benches more conveys a real scene than some cut and pasted composite. Great contrasts and black and white conversion complete the scene.
This image captures such a great atmosphere. It is homely and cosy, whilst at the same time sunny and bright, I would be more than happy to sit in this chair and enjoy my own breakfast. The highlights from the sunlight falling on the furniture and the rug add another element to the scene. I love the composition, with only part of the table and chair visible, and the plants peeping into the frame behind, but we see enough to get a sense of the whole space. Lovely shot.
Never easy to get an effective shot on public transport due to multiple constraining factors such as low light, respecting privacy, movement and unpredictable arrangement of static elements and people etc, but you have done a great job here in documenting what looks to be a night-time metro system. The low viewpoint, presumably from your seat, brings the viewer into the scene as a participant rather than an observer. Good black and white conversion with lovely contrasts.
What I really like here is the juxtaposition between the collection of tables and chairs, and the arrangement of the skyscrapers in the background. There is nothing flashy or especially attention-grabbing in the scene, but that is what appeals, as it is a harmonious and well-balanced scene with nothing jarring or competing for attention. The inclusion of the small figure walking into the scene adds a nice human element.
