I've actually been on this road and the photo takes me back to that day. I like that the photographer stayed on the side of the road and resisted the temptation to move to the center. Standing on the side creates more depth and allows the mountains to be centered. Foreground saturation is good but I would have liked to see more saturation in the sky. Unfortunately, unless the haze on the mountains is selectively reduced then increasing the blue sky will cause the haze to darken.

Somewhere out there is a piece of road that winds through the countryside. You know it well, you think of it on a warm summer day, car top down, wind in your hair. Or maybe it is a crisp autumn morning, trees ablaze with autumn colours. Show me the countryside road that beckons, show it in colour, in any season or any time of day. Have fun....good luck.

"keep your motor running, head out on the highway" While this is not the typical road picture I like it because it captures the spirit of the brief....adventure, wanderlust, new sights and sounds. I think the photographers choice of B&W would have been questionable were it not for the flag. which contrasts nicely with his leather jacket. Following the rule of thirds paid off here allowing an unobstructed view of the mountains.
A big thumbs up for the composition on this photo. I like the way the fence line leads you down the road. I like the way the bare tree provides balance to the photo but lets the light come through. The sunbeams provide color to the background and accentuate the golden color of the grass under the fence.
