This picture is really technically strong. The focal point and shallow depth of field is perfect drawing me into the rider's eyes and their look of concentration. There is enough motion blur to understand the speed and energy at which the bike and rider are travelling and this is further emphasized by the vibrant colors.
This picture really caught my eye. The photographer has made the decision not to capture the lead rider's bike, in the main, and this had resulted in a great close-up enabling us to see the effort and emotion on the rider's face. There is then a great leading line causing us to consider each rider in turn and the expressions on their faces. The shallow depth of field ensured we are constantly draw back to the lead rider. A very well timed capture!

What's not to love about this capture. A father supporting his daughter as she learns to rider alongside him on the road. The positioning of the father at roughly a third and the daughter in the center gives an excellent framing of the subjects and we're left focusing on both as a result. I can also see just far enough along the road to give me some perspective of where they are heading and thoughts of what might lie ahead

I would love to see your photos on the theme of cycling. This could be anything from people cycling on the road, downhill, cross country, in the backyard or simply a still life capturing the tools of cycling. Photos can be colour or black and white but should try to capture the energy and joy of cycling.
This low key image of this BMX rider really stands out, minimalist but at the same time there's a lot going on. The contrast of the almost silhouetted rider against the bright backdrop is effective in conveying the skill and concentration of the rider. The vertical lines on the wall provide great texture to the image and I particularly live the fact the riders frame and wheels are aligned with the horizontal bar. Excellent capture!
