Details in the Natural World in Black and White

Thank you for your wonderful contribution to this contest. The overall composition and the lighting are perfect in my eyes. I love the detail of the spiderweb wrapped around the fungi. You also caught the details of their stems so well, which is often overlooked. There were quite a number of fungus photos, but for me, this one beats them all.

Only a passionate photographer can be fascinated and excited by such a photo!! Yet the fine details you managed to capture are wonderful. They are exactly why I set this contest in the first place and why it had to be in black and white. Love it.!

OMG - the urge to run is great, but the fascination with this mesmerising face is stronger. I would never be able to look a live snake so closely into the face, yet looking at this amazing image, I realise how intricate the details of this beautiful creature are.
