Straw bales again, a very different way, a kind of perfection in the quality of the photography! Beautiful, almost symetric composition, very natural colours, where sharpness shows us the texture and the beauty of the warm, blond straw under the harsh midday sun. Thank you for this excellent photo and congratulations!
Here no vast landscape, we do only see a part of it on the sides of the abandonned ,lonely house and lonely tree. The pale grass foreground tells how hot and dry the season is. But the discrete hues of a sunset soften the story and pours a poetic atmosphere all around, which impresses me very much. Thank you for sharing this moment with us and congratulations!
To me this is a picture which perfectly matches with the idea I had when writing the brief of this "Dry Summer Landscapes in colour" challenge: a vast landscape whith a typical late summer velvet gold. due to the special early morning light. I asked for natural colours aand here they are, nothing is exagerated and the charm operates! Thank you for entering this challenge with such a great photo! Congratulations!
I am sorry to have had to eliminate many, sometimes beautiful photos, which did not respect the brief as they were showing lush green landscapes or mineral deserts.
Only the green trees and vineyard give us a clue that this is a picture taken during summertime and not winter! The landscape looks really harsh due to the dark earth, the deeply graved lines, the atmosphere. and severe colours. Some rounded hill slopes soften the general impression under a friendly blue sky. The fields seem already be prepared for the next sowing or planting.
Thank you for your participation! Congratulations!
This stirking photography shows me that drone photography can become a masterpiece when a good idea, a good idea and lots of drone skills meet together. I love the stark contrast between the diagonal stripes with their many yellow to brown hues and the round bales with their oval shapes breaking the rigidity of the whole. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing this excellent photo with us! Next time, please, add some clue about the location!

The description of this photo tells that it has been taken from a hot air balloon. Wow, it must have been very exciting to have such an experience! I do like the global atmosphere and the geometry of the landscape, also th typical colours of early morning or late afternoon, with long shadows on the ground. I love the opposition of the green meadows and the somewhat yellow-beige crops, some harvested, others not. Congratulations! And thank you for participating!
Next time, please, add some clue about the location!
Many photos posted in this challenge show straw or hay balls on harvested fields and it is OK with them., it allowed me to see how many intersting ways exist to value them when taking a picture. No mater if a classical or a very original one, if it is well done, it is a pleasure to admire it. In this version of bales I do appreciate the storm atmospere over this well composed position of bales in the landscape and the natural colours. Thank you for entering my challenge and congratulations!

I would love to see your colour photos of dry summer landscapes that have lost the glorious colours of early summer and have turned very dry and yellow all around. Dry landscapes are common in many parts of the world but in Europe, especially in northern countries, it is something new and unusual, especially in this year of long lasting drought. It can be challenging to find beauty in these sobre, sometimes almost monochrome landscapes, but if you catch the morning or evening light it can make fantastic photos. Please only enter colour photos of dry summer landscapes, looking as natural as possible.
