I love this phot because it combines so many techniques in to a unified whole: bokeh, narrow depth of field, a perfect placement of objects leading around the frame and use of diagonals. The colours are slightly muted overall but the beer bottle, tomato sauce and basil leaf stand out. While we can't clearly see the pedestrians, the shorts give it an athletic / sports feel as if they just came from a football game. Congratulations on first place!
These poor little girls look so hungry for a pizza that is no longer there. A great image from inside a shop window rather than the more typical outside The slightly unfocused empty pan and pizza cutter are what really make the shot work. The diamond panes make the shot have more of the sense of a barrier. Congratulations on third place.
There weren't many photos submitted on the subject of delivery, but this one stood out. It is a great candid shot and he certainly looks tired after a long day on his bike. The long format of the photo works very well with the linearity of the bench, contrasting with the man, the bike and the pizza case accompanying it. Congratulations on second place.
This is one of just a couple of photos in the contest involving animals. Gulls are certainly pesky little thieves. A terrific close-up shot with great backlighting and a foreground successfully illuminated with either fill-in flash or post-processing. I especially like the light shining through the piece of pizza. Congratulations.

What fun! A beautifully composed humourous still life Great imitation of a Pacman, down to the idea of making the salami slices torn as they enter his olive-toothed mouth to look like they've already been half-eaten. The tic-tac-toe tile setting makes it even more game-like. and adds background interest by intersecting the foreground. Congratulations.
This was probably the most original entry in the contest and the only one I recall with pizza-themed clothing. And it works very well, with the combination of the crossed-legs, the black background and the grass. The socks and grass capture the Italian flag colours and the sole other colour is black, which makes all stand out. Congratulations.
This hungry little guy looks like he is about to snatch that pizza right off the counter. I like the vertical format in this one, which works to emphasize the counter height in relation to the dog without actually showing the side of it. The diagonal opposition of the two subjects also works well. He has very expressive eyes. Congratulations.
A perfectly cropped minimalist photo in square format. The red and blueish-green are almost colour wheel opposites, which makes for a striking image. This diagonal placement of the cutter was a great match for the beveled plate shape. I also like the lighting with the shadow fitting into one bevel. Great example of a memorable photo made of only two simple objects. Congratulations.

Show me your photos of everything about pizzas. Images could show the pizzas themselves, pizzerias, pizza ovens, pizza trucks and stands and even pizza delivery people in uniform. While I think colour might work well for this, you might also be able to come up with a creative black and white entry.
