This photo is really different from the others. It transports me to another era and it leads to an unanswered question: why? The forest has taken over, but the presence of the rusty iron in the foreground speaks of a not so distant time and we imagine this lost world with the life that goes with it. I really like the shades of green which bring a certain softness to the subject. Thank you for your participation in this contest and well done again for this beautiful image

For th second place, I chose this photo because it has fantastic light and clouds. I imagine it must have been very worked, but it's really my crush. The beauty of a photo - for me - cannot be explained, even if there are some logical reasons for it. Here it can correspond to contradictory feelings because of the contrast between shadow and light. Many congratulations on your work and on your passion for it. And thank you for participating in my contest.

Here too the picture is amazing. A garage in ruins. It is easy to imagine that the owner lived here, but also that life was hard: the desert is not so far. A story is written and passed and it poses a lot of questions. I particularly like the framing and the work of the photo, a beautiful black & white. Congratulations on this work and thank you for participating in my contest.

Houses and castles in ruins: in this contest, I did not include in my judgment religious buildings, factories in ruins etc. On the other hand, as here, there are enough beautiful photos of beautiful ruins that also deserve attention.I am happy to recognize this wonderful image of Kilchurn Castle reflected in Loch Awe. In fact the icomparable rendering is explained first of all by the choice of the format (Pentax 4.5X6) and I also imagine that the digitization was very worked. And I also like this magical moment when the fog, in the background, allows the beautiful silhouette of the castle to stand out against the mountain. Congratulations on this photo and thank you very much for your participation in my contest.

In this contest, I would like to see your best photos of the outside of ruined houses or castles. Ruins are the remains of a civilization's architecture: structures that were once intact, that as time went by have fallen into a state of partial or total disrepair due to lack of maintenance or deliberate acts of destruction. Please only enter photos of ruined exteriors, no interior shots.
