I love this evocative image of young Mundari boy with a cattle herd captured as the dawn breaks and the day begins. The soft hues of early morning, light the scene beautifully. A really outstanding image which well deserves the number one spot. You did well to hold the image sharp at 1/30. Congratulations!

As we traverse the countryside we are surrounded by farming, but how often do we stop to think about what goes into it, and how our food is produced. And how often do we then turn our cameras on it, visit farms and fields, talk to farmers, and get under the skin of this vital industry? And food production doesn’t finish at the farm. The processing and production of food is a huge industry, although one more likely to be housed in a building and so less accessible, but no less worthy of our attention. All phases and types of farming and food production are included within this contest theme.
Wow what a shot - the light - the detail and composition go to make this a real stand out image. The dark brooding sky makes a strong contrasting background to the man's face, lit directly by the sun. You did very well with the exposure - the detail is all there. It's very easy to blow the highlights in these situations. Excellent work!

A really nice image well captured - it looks like it could have been taken in the 1940s were it not for the fact it was shot on a Canon 5D MK4 ! I love the detail you have captured in the strong sunlight - the brooding rainclouds making a great contrasting background. I love the low viewpoint too, giving the picture real energy. Nice B&W conversion in post - great work!
A really beautiful close up shot which really caught my attention. The detail of the hair and eye is fantastic giving you a real sense of the animal - you don't often get an opportunity to study at such close quarters. The flash of the yellow tag contrasting well with the black and white of the cow's hair. Looking at this picture reminds us what a magnificent creature the humble farm cow is and deserves more of our respect. Great work!
There's no information about this image but looks to have been taken in Bahrain of a local farmer pulling beetroot and trimming the roots. I love the colours and super fine detail of the man squatting low to the ground, concentrating all his efforts to the job in hand. Great observation beautifully shot.
A lovely shot of this young lamb with what I imagine are the parents. The sun light picking out the fine detail of these beautiful animals. For me it really brings home how we really need to give these humble farm creatures more of our respect. A really beautiful image well observed. Narrowly missing out on the the top 10 spot.
A simple yet pleasing image - I love the contrasting colours of the red and blue with the white clouds scudding across the sky. It's a quiet English scene evoking times gone by. The fast shutter speed has stopped all the action as the farmer turns to adjust his plough. Nice observation well composed.
