Happy Animals (no humans)

This photograph is excellent - the obvious fun the dog is having exudes happiness. The offset composition is good revealing the wintry landscape and the lighting also suggests a slighty darker winters day. The attention to detail is good with excellent focussing and snowy details.

What can I say but superb! (This was a crowd favourite too). Fits the brief - that expression would make anybody smile and the body posture exudes happiness! Great focussing and narrow depth of field - composition and lighting is beautiful too.

Wow! This photograph has happiness in abundance - the dog’s excited expression and mid air leap must make everyone smile. The photograph is technically perfect - blurred background, pin sharp focus and good composition which suggests the dog could jump out the frame at us!

This photograph is beautiful - the monkey most certainly looks happy and contented. The technical merits of this photo are outstanding with absolutely faultless composition, lighting, focussing and contrast. The photograph in black and white makes the monkey extremely sympathetic. Brilliant!

Beautiful photograph! This fits the brief brilliantly - both the elephant’s expression and action exudes happiness. The photo is also technically excellent - great composition and focussing, excellent lighting and in black and white the tones and contrast is wonderful.

Who would not smile at this photo! The panda exudes happiness with a smile and wave. The photo is also technically perfect with no distracting background and perfect focussing. I also the more subdued lighting, resisting any temptation to oversaturate. This was also a crowd favourite.

This photograph is excellent and with a high standard in the animal “happiness” contest just missed out on the top ten. I love the technical brilliance - the composition is great, the lighting is absolutely beautiful and the focussing spot on.
