I connect with this image on so many levels. Clearly an exceptional composition by all artistic and photographic standards, but the ethereal atmosphere and soft color pallet of the treatment evoke a great deal of feeling and emotion to me as a viewer. The image is calming and inviting - I would very much like to visit this place to take in its natural beauty and serenity. Well done!

Party lap pow day! After living in the Colorado Rockies for the past decade - I can all to clearly relate to this image. The black and white toning and contrast really work well for me. The long shadows of the ridge above and the countless ski tracks reveal a good day of skiing in the backcountry. I love images that provide visual clues of what happened within the day. That is always a sign of success within a piece of art - well done!

The leading lines within this image paired with the contrast of the black and white treatment are just beautiful. The careful composition and placement of the skin track lines within each corner of the image are perfect. the texture of the snow against the soft shadows give the viewer a clear sense for the rolling terrain. A quiet yet powerful image!

What's not to love about this capture and moment. From the color to the framing this image really draws the viewer in from afar. The placement of the two divers within the panels is the perfect placement and a perfect example of the golden photographic principal - rule of thirds. Well done!

What a unique moment of capture! The setting for this moment really drew me to this image. I can't say I have ever come across an image of volleyball outside of the beach and a gym or stadium. I love how the figures are backlit and highlighted by the glow of the mountains. Truly beautiful!

The natural lighting of this image is picture perfect. The way that it highlights the left side of her body and goes to shadow is so beautiful. I would love to see a few frames that are more candid and the women is not acknowledging camera. The contrast and lines of the image are just stunning - A+ all around!

This image resonates for me on so many levels - from an action sports photographer to a surfer that learned the sport in Michigan's great lakes during the middle of winter. The solace that occurs while walking to the water from your warm car and thoughts of excitement as you watch the set of waves roll in while the cold snow crunches under your wetsuit. Perfect!

A stunning aerial capture! Though this image is quiet and without movement of any humankind - it evokes the energy and sounds of this field during competition. The muted pallet of colors in the field next to the surrounding dirt outside the stadium really play well with each other. There is so much feeling and emotion in this image - well done!

What a moment! From the direct glance from the figure to the movement of the bird - truly special. The creative blur of the background and water compliment the focus of the action and subject - as does the image centered image composition. A creative suggestion that could be interesting to explore would be a slight blur on the boat and figure - I feel this could really accentuate the motion in the image.

This image was intriguing to me for many reasons - the color, composition and action. The color pallet and treatment draw you eye in initially but then you really study the figure to see that they are ice skating on a large lake covered by snow. Beautifully executed, captured and edited!
