Taken in the garden of England, this image shows lupins, planted in raised beds. Lovely light and electric colours. Just simple and nicely taken the foreground lupins are sharp and the remainder of the flowers behind are out of focus just enough. Nicely framed.

A photograph of roses should always look like this in my view. Mist, subtle colours, giving a delicate romantic look and atmosphere. Love the droplets on the leaves and makes you want to smell the flowers. Doesn't need anything else.

There is boundless joy to be had creating and evolving a garden, and growing produce for the kitchen. These spaces are valuable for leisure, escape and wellbeing, and capturing the beauty and variety of domestic garden spaces, and the ways in which they are enjoyed, brings even more joy. As with so many subjects in the natural world, the artistic possibilities within even small areas are many. All images of home gardens and allotments are welcomed.

Lovely image of the yellowhammer just before it lands. Eyes fixed at the camera and wings splayed out perfectly. The yellow and the pink go very well together, with the photographer using 1/4000th of a sec to freeze the moment brilliantly. Nicely balanced framing too.

A rose again, with very subtle but beautiful colours, and deliciously soft light. Taken in a grandmothers garden. I like that there are two types of flowers side by side. Well done for keeping the ISO the lowest you could.

I liked the balance in this shot, where the flower head in focus fits nicely with the others in the background. Sometimes this is really hard to achieve with flower photography. Great colour, detail and focus, and those water droplets - wow.

I liked this shot, as it shows an allotment, and you get three views. One of the shed and the slither of allotment to the left with the treehouse, then you can see into the shed window to see what looks to be a tomato plant, and in that same window you get a reflection of a sunset from the other direction.

A good collection of tools here, just simply lined up against a fence. Looks like autumn or winter. Nicely shot. Just capturing a moment during a day in the garden. Very often tools provide an interesting subject matter in a garden for their shapes. Works here.

This image almost made the top ten as I really like shots that show children exploring a wild garden. Getting lost in the overgrowth. This is a great shot. The toddler wears a cardigan with flowers on, and holds a watering can.

Liked this one for the shafts of sunlight hitting the little wooden bridge. Shows a garden pond and I like the angle of where the image was taken. It's an inviting view and that's always magic with garden photography. There is a plaque but I can't make out what it says. Clearly someone loves this space.

Another garden image that invites you in, to want to go exploring into the wild areas. Lots going on in this image, with a variety of strong colourful flowering plants, but shows structure with the house and the pathway. Maybe slightly over sharpened is my only critique.

A great view, showing a passionate gardening couple. Nicely framed, makes the viewer feel part of the scene, and the white dog helps add a homely feel. I like the working garden feel about this, and it makes me feel that they are collecting their vegetables to cook for their tea later that evening. Lovely.

This image is a moment in time of a bench which clearly has been there for a very long time. I loved the soft light and soft moss growing all around. Nicely shot using a F/11 so much of the bench is in focus. It is tempting to use a wider aperture but the resulting image wouldn't have been as effective in my view. Lovely shot!

Photographers love shooting poppies, as they have delicate, large, colourful petals and curvy stems. Also, where they grow usually allows the surrounding to be interesting. This image is a lovely shot, nice light on the flower, with just enough interest in the surrounding.

I've chosen this image to be in the top 10 as I just loved the wild and unkept feel of the view, but still having a bird bath structure in the centre. The path has been taken over by wildlife and the lavender. Taken at 100mm, works well, and the thistle is great.

The best thing about this image is the light on the moth which is just fantastic. Its proboscis caught in the light and frozen by 1/3200th of a sec shutter. Great work. It doesn't matter that the flower is mostly out of focus. Patience would have been needed to get this shot. well done.
