This is gorgeous. I think the Infrared spectrum really made this macro photo stand out from the crowd. The composition is spot on and the subtle hint of infrared color is really quite nice.
I think its the color subtleties of this photo that capture my attention. I am drawn to the soft pastel blue and the faint yellow spot light behind the bug is perfect.
Well done all around.

I really like the traditional swap effect here where the leaves turn yellow and sky blue.
I also enjoy the vantage point of the camera and the detail of the photo.
I think the detail ads a lot of reality to the final image. I almost feel like I can touch the rocks, hear the leaves blowing, and smell the water.

What you have done here is taken a visible light image and inverted the colors. That is not infrared as it does not capture the infrared spectrum of light.
A true infrared photo is taken with a camera that captures the infrared light spectrum. You are not the only one who did this, but it needs to be said that this is not true IR photography.
I really enjoy the large amount of room you left here for the grass. It is perfect for the photo. It leads my eye right up to your focal point while giving me a moment to rest before I get there.
Very nice detail and I agree that infrared was a great choice for this composition and location.
Very well done wth your post production as well.
The colors here are fantastic! The classic pink and Green IR conversion is one of my favorites. This would have easily made the top 5 had it been cleaned up a little on the edges of the details.
With Infrared photography, chromatic aberration is much more prevalent. Notice the tree leaves and the red and green edges that surround the details, that is chromatic aberration, and it distracts my attention from the focal point of the image.
With that being said, your control of color here is fantastic, and your exposure is spot on for the subject.
I don't see a whole lot of portraits shot in IR , but I really like this one.
It think the translucency of the skin is complemented by the deep tones of the tattoos and it works well.
My only qualm with the photo is the pose and body language. She seems to be disinterested in the portrait and therefore that disinterest is shown to the viewer.
Another pose, or shot with more expression would be awesome to see. Thanks for sharing this one.

There is no such thing as an infrared reversal. What you have done here is taken a visible light image and inverted the colors. That is not infrared as it does not capture the infrared spectrum of light.

Blake's brief: I enjoy photography of all kinds. It inspires me to see the world through the eyes of others and I think we can all learn something from the unique perspective someone else can bring to our attention. Over the years I have found an interest in another spectrum of light, the Infrared Spectrum. It allows us to see the world in a whole new way and what I love most about it is how others manipulate those photos to showcase the world. For this Contest, I would like to see your Black and White or Color Infrared photos. For those of you who know nothing of the Infrared world, use this contest as a way to draw inspiration from light captured in another spectrum. For those who are currently infrared photographers, you can show any IR photo from any IR filter.
