Managing and adjusting the exposure to direct sunlight, while keeping the softness of the mist and the shadows, is not an easy task. And here, it is very well done. The fact that the main building which culminates at the top of the hill is at a strong spot in the image as well as the line of trees which leads to the sun reinforce the excellent composition of this image. The stretching mists complete a magnificent picture giving it a superb visual impact.

So, in my opinion, with its superb composition, and properly post-treated, this photo fully deserves its first place.

In this contest I would like to see your photos of wide landscapes and other vistas in panoramic format. Panoramic images usually have a ratio of 2x1 or larger, meaning the image should be at least twice as wide as it is tall. Images in panoramic format often give us the delight to admire how impressive some places could be in their whole. Your panoramas can be created how you choose, such as using an in-camera panoramic setting, or maybe stitching several photos together to achieve this result.

I have been impressed by the color balance of this picture. Also the composition is rock solid! With the shipwreck on the beach and the lines from the rock formations. It greatly supports the visual impact. Impressive photographic work here. The one and only reason I didn't choose this picture in the top 10 is, in my humble opinion, it does not looks truly panoramic to me. I have been thinking about it a lot, as the brief was called about pciture under 2:1 format or more. Still it totally deserves high commendation.

Pretty nice composition! The roads and the light trails leading to the city core are superb. It makes our eyes travel through the picture. This time of the day, under this low light at blue hour fits perfectly the story this picture is telling. Nice photo!

Great capture with this one! Photographing fog and mist, at low light with keeping it's look and impact is not easy. Here, I love that this composition is telling a story, between the mountains, the valley and the village. We feel their relationship. Bravo!

When I think about what a good visual impact in a photo could be, that's what I have in mind! Impressive composition, the sun directly between the branches, the clouds creating a bright and warm fan and then the darker sky, deep blue completes the constrasted colors. The panoramic format gives the scene a great look at a wide weahter phenomenon. Great catch, awesomely rendered.
