Landscapes with Lone Buildings

There were several entries of this beautiful little spot, but this one stood out as my favourite. Superbly composed, with the inclusion of the rock in the foreground adding interest and balancing the shot overall. Lighting is lovely, and I love the contrast of the warming light that the sunshine brings, along with the warm hues of the vegetation, contrasting with the chill of the snow. Congratulations on your third place finish.

A starkly beautiful scene of this iconic church captured in its surrounding landscape. I do not usually go for images that have selective colour elements, which to me are rather clichéd, but here I think it works well as the image gives the overall impression of a stormy snowy day that would have a more-or-less monochrome look anyway. You successfully sought out the perfect vantage point to capture this magnificent scene. Congratulations on your second place finish.
