This stood out as a slightly different image, and I liked the natural sunlight on the rider, but also how close the photographer got to the subject. Shooting it at a really wide angle (14mm), really works for the shot, and it also means that the photographer really did get super close to the action. Nice work.
Everything works very well with this image. The moment caught shows the energy of the rider trying to keep on the bike but go as fast as they dare in the circumstances. Mud flying everywhere, but not interfering with the shot. It's clean and nicely captured at 1/1600th. Great colours against the mud.

Similar to the 2nd placed image, this shot shows a side-car speedway. This time a much cleaner image to the other, so less dramatic, but it makes your eye stay on the bike and riders. Think the shutter speed may have been 1/1000th rather than 1/100th. I like how the photographer has processed this image for the final version.
This image almost made the top ten. The trees are a great backdrop for the stunt the rider is pulling in this shot. It has great atmosphere and feeling. The photographer knew where to stand to get this shot, and shooting it at f/3.2 has thrown the trees out of focus just enough to make this shot work so well.

I chose this image as the winner because of the striking lighting which highlights all what is cool about the motorbike, but also the light streaking made by the photographer which adds something a bit special. ISO 100 for great quality, f/16 for great focus across the bike, and like the fact that it is centrally positioned in the frame. Great work.

I liked to see this image as it promotes the work of a much needed charity. The photographer describes what they had to prepare and then how they shot the image using 6 images. Using a cherry picker can work so well, as it does here. The line of the bikes goes from one corner of the image to the opposing corner in a perfect diagonal. Great planning makes a great shot.
I liked this shot. The red and blue clothes of the riders, against the murky brown mud all around them really stands out. The 70-200mm f/2.8 has always been a top lens, and the photographer has made sure they have used an extra fast shutter to freeze that moment. Nice and low angle too, to add to the atmosphere. Awesome.
