Nets

I am very impressed with the use of golden light in this image to highlight the net. The light through the palm trees, the reflection in the water and the freezing of motion all combine to make this a very pleasing image.

I am captivated by the mood in this high key image. The monochromatic effect works very well and the geometry of the image holds the gaze. The two people in the boat adds a sense of scale and contribute to the story.

This drone shot immediately captivated my interest. It presented a unique view with the black background, the highlighting of the edge of the net, the two boats and the radial lines of the net. The imaginative use of post processing has resulted in a very pleasing use of light and dark sections of the image and the eye is continually drawn back to the centre.

There were several images of ladies repairing or making these nets and it was difficult to choose one over the others. I chose this one because it clearly shows the ladies face and the directional light provides a pleasing contrast and texture on the nets. The vignetting effect has also been used well to draw the eye back to the centre of interest.

A different interpretation of the brief which works very well. I love the shallow depth of field and the sharpness of the image. The light on the web (net) and the water droplets is excellent and highlights the trapped grasshopper. A pleasing and evocative image.
