People and Geometries

April 2017

This photo is one of the best I've seen so far. It is in accordance with the chosen theme. The geometry is part of our lives and no matter how well we perceive it, in a direct or indirect manner, it is there. It depicts exactly the two dimensional perspective as well as the 3D one. We, the people, are similar to the ants, building the 'geometry' of time into space. Everything is shaped by the shapes, the moving as well as the static one; the colors as well as the B&W. Congrats! Wonderful story here!

This photo reminds me of the fantastic stories of Arthur C. Clarke or Ray Bradbury's. It carries you into 'parallel' worlds while keeping you connected to each one. There's a sort of asymmetrical symmetry that does well to the eye. The play with the exposure gives a sort of a peacefulness feeling but in the same time a kind of anxiety. Well, anyone can see anything he likes, but far beyond this is the endless limit we all search for. Extremely visual and well put into light and geometry! Well done!

As surreal it may seem, this photo makes me think, with all it's geometrical forms, to a story ... that was, or not, photographer's intention. The artistic effect makes me imagine all these like a game of cards, with spades and diamonds. Each one plays his own card right in the heart of the escape. Time to reflect on the clubs. Great!

I love this photo a lot. It is as simple as possible but the impact is much beyond simplicity. The geometry is used here to focus our attention to the human condition, to nullify the perception to a set of fears some of us might have experienced or are aware of. Here we have a sort of Rorschach test transmuted into photography, horror into symmetry & as in Schroedinger's cat experiment, there are 50/50 chances to find a smile or a cry on the hidden face. Wonderful perspective!

This photo looks like is part of an action movie or a thriller one, with mobs and cops, fighting and chase, mysticism and so on. It is very cinematic and the pattern of the stairs is enforced by the triad of hands. Nice!

This is one of the photos that captured my attention in the first place, because of the patterns used. Geometrical forms help in here to point to the subject, to guide the viewer where it was intended. The colours help in this way. Beautiful!

I was always fascinated by how the geometry blends with our lives. Light drawing shadows, poetry of the shapes, framing, illusions, ratios, etc. - the geometry is everywhere and it flows through our eyes. Simplicity and minimalism are key factors for the story to go smooth and to have a powerful impact. Colour, as well as B&W, photography is accepted!
