Great contest!

This is a stunning picture. I love the definition in his mustache, his eyes glancing over his rounded spectacles and the gold glare from the lens AND the frame. His hands tell a story as does the resting umbrella/walking stick. GREAT capture.

This is a special picture. I love the texture in his turban and his sari, and his peering eyes. My slight critique would be a. tad less shadow in his left sided face - but on second thought - I think it gives character. A total winner. Well done!

The emergence from the cave is a special shot. the flowing ropes and sheen give way to his majesty while the doorway dwarves his size and the role of his priesthood. This is a unique capture - and I especially love the texture and context of the cave surrounding him!

This is a winner. The brilliance in her blue eyes, red lips, stunning face framed in her hijab tells me of her spirit and commitment to tradition and her natural beauty and love of life. this is a winner in any contest and am so appreciative you shared it here.

This shot has it all. Large backdrop with a diminished and slightly off center subject, peering away with eye catch and his face tells it all. I love his resting hands and tired, worked feet along with this leaning on his staff. This is a special picture.

Fun. that is what this shot is. Unique, special. Candid. It has many favorite parts for me - Burt the texture and redness of other sand with plain prints form their simple shoes is my favorite part of the story. That, along with their smiles. This is a great shot. My only rec would be to add some contrast and texture to the clouds and perhaps a splash of tone - to give even more of a texture. Brilliant!

This reminds me of the proverb/teaching - the world is a narrow bridge or in this case a rickety one - and the key is to not be afraid.. Love the water, the flimsiness of the bridge, the orange lone person walking and the vantage point. Just a powerful picture!

this picture scores on all levels. the texture of his beard, his glance away with catch-eye and his soft hand gently on his chest covering some of his religious articles tell m deep, large and awesome person in a heavy role. I also love his hat that I can see where it begins but not where it ends. Well done!

This picture is great. The green pop of his robe and the diminishing nature of the human in the compelling backdrop tells the religious story of the smallness of human and the greatness of GD. this is a great capture. thanks for sharing it!

This is a genius capture. The black and white does so much more than hide colors - it is a Time Machine that speaks in the same language as the subjects of the picture - pre modernity.. I love the faces in different directions and the Hebrew signage sharing local deaths - since they cannot use technology to disseminate the data. The textured wall is an added touch. Great shot!

Great shot. Love his glance that does not seemed posed - looking over his shoulder and the Boqeh is tasteful and not over or under done. His spear is all about defense and aggression but his eyes and body language are all about peace - hence a strong juxtaposition. The texture and definition in his turban is compelling. Great capture!

I love this picture. Beyond recognizing many faces, the haunting and somber/gloomy backdrop of the memorial at Dacha is present in the frame and in the mind. I also love that one can tell this is either pre or post prayer - but in anticipation of a heavy moment in a heavy place. Well done!

this is a fantastic capture. If you asked me at first glance, I would say it was color - because of the monotone features of the subject and clothes and the paper he is reading. I love the silver streaks in his beard. The B& W is genius. Thanks for the capture and for sharing. SO well done!
