The muted tones of this image and the crop work well to frame just the synecdochal view of the person and his guitar. The only thing that is completely visible is his hand, - but we know, it’s an acoustic guitar, we know it’s a guitar player, we know there’s a t-shirt and a lined suede jacket – our imagination fills in the missing pieces. The post produced frame echoes the rugged aura of the image, adds importance and begs that this image should be displayed. This is a pleasingly succinct and informative photographic study of a man with his guitar. Well done.
In this image you have captured these beautifully lit performers on stage, and communicated these wonderful contrasting and complimentary colours. I.e. Blue and Yellow; Red and Green. Guitar and bass played in a major key is mesmerising - this low key, but highly saturated image, full of dominant primary colours, absolutely echoes this. Well done. Thank you for entering my contest.
I recognise this London street artist and one man band, Lewis Floyd Henry, who singlehandedly and innovatively fuses Jimi Hendrix rock and Notorious B.I.G rap covers impressively well. ”And if you don’t know; now you know – scuse me while I kiss the sky”. The square crop works well to frame your subject, in displaying his guitar, his smiling face, possibly excluding any extraneous distractions? Always enjoying himself while drawing a crowd, you have captured his enjoyment and the Joyful demeanour he exhibits in between his very intense bouts of concentration while playing the bass drum, singing and playing guitar at the same time. By bravely moving in close using a 40mm focal length, you have captured a lot of welcome detail. Thank you for entering my contest
Marvellous example of Jacques Henri Lartigue’s decisive moment whether staged or not.
Seen here is the heavy metalist in action right there, in the air and completely in the frame. A difficult shot but perfectly made. He isn’t half in or half out - he’s right on time. His signature hair style or non-hair style is caught in full head banging animation - a symbol of non-conformity and freedom – enough to blow your mind…
The bass guitar design defines what genre of music he ought to play although he plays anything he wants… Does anything he wanna do… and he might as well jump.
Congratulations. Thank you for entering.
This is a lovely sunlit scene depicting a slice of life in the city. This is a beautiful guitar with its player sitting in a sunny street. His dogs bask while their master busks. The bright sunlight counter-intuitively brings out the colours and details of the dog’s fur, the man’s jacket, face, hat and guitar. The rings on his fingers are an intriguing sign of having allegiance to one or more rebellious subcultures perhaps? A well composed, candid image of a dog enjoying his masters voice. Must be good. Congratulations and thank you for entering.
I love the treatment of this image - it’s a visual version of the wah-wah, flanger or tremolo. I can almost hear the fat, wavy chord the guitarist is playing. Although we don’t see the person we know he’s there, and the black surround with the small burst of emerald silky colour, is a visual manifestation of pleasing sound… Thank you for entering.

This is worthy of a second look and even a third. What is this man up to? Is he for real? It looks like he has combined two passions – his sun worship and his musical pursuits. This you say is Tim Sidall aka Flame Proof Moth and he can be regularly seen on the banks of the Thames at low tide. Is it an innovative publicity stunt for Flame Proof Moth? The image is well composed with all necessary elements of information and interest well positioned. There are no distracting elements – every item in the image is vital to the narrative. Congratulations. Thank you for entering my contest.
