Photographing the Photographer

I love the look of concentration on the child's face, she seems totally enthralled by her camera. Starting young can often lead to a lifetime interest and rewarding hobby or career. I would love to see the the other image capturing her form the left. The composition is very pleasing as is the depth of field concentrating the eye on her. A lovely portrait that fully meets the brief. Congratulations on your top ten place, thank you for entering.

This is a great image that is full of interest and vibrancy. The turquoise of the vest really makes this stand out, especially with the repetition in the reflection. The composition is very good and would have been even better if the top of the hat was not cut off. For me this stopped it being a top ten image. But I did enjoy it, an added point of interest is the different perspective of the photographers in the reflections. Many thanks for entering.

What a happy picture this is. I love the limited palette and the perfect location the photographer has chosen to capture a family shot. The limited colour pallet is lovely and invokes a hot summers day. The meadow flowers add to the overall exuberance of the scene and the image has a nice balance. This image tells a great story, doing what needs to be done to get that perfect shot will resonate with everyone who has ever found themselves in awkward or uncomfortable positions just to get 'the shot' (or as I find these days - when the creaking joints will allow). It has energy and immediacy, as you know this is a position that cannot be sustained for a long period of time. The composition is pleasing overall, I like the details in the fishing nets and oars tied with odd bits of rope. Congratulations on your top ten placing and thanks for entering.

This images captures what is for me, the most important aspect of photography - the joy that it brings to other people. When taking pictures in rural Africa, the local people are very happy for you to photograph them, they love to look at the images, as this is often the only time that they will have seen themselves, and I wonder if this is case here. As well as great story, the composition is good , well balanced and the focus draws the viewers eyes to the main subjects. Congratulations on your top ten place and thanks for entering.

I love the contrasts in this image. The feeling of a Summers day with the poppies in the meadow just about to be interrupted by a storm. Hope he got all the shots he wanted before the rain. This is great story telling, a photographer out doing what he loves, and fully immersed in the countryside, becoming part of the landscape for another photographer.
