Thank you Simon for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 4th place! At first glance it looks like an explosion, but, if you look closer, you can see a dizzying perspective of modern buildings converging upwards. The contrasting black and white and the vignette highlight the lines of light that draw bright rays starting from the centre of the frame. A dynamic composition that goes well with the subject.

Thank you Frank for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 10th place! The light draws a shadow that is an alter ego of the real chair. Together, real chair and reflected chair, they create a new subject, an abstract entity, two wings in flight. Very graphic image, well seen.

Thank you Chinmoy for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 8th place! A minimalist night scene: in a dark street, a thin figure captures the attention. The cyclist is stuck right in the centre of the light beam that draws his silhouette. A simple and eye catching image.

Thank you Blanca for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 3th place! An intimate, reserved image, with a composition that is striking for its orderly geometric structure, thus divided into rectangles. A person captured in the passage in front of a window, illuminated by a light that draws his figure, highlighting the white hair. A delicate and well composed urban image.

Thank you Bill for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your second place! Milky whiteness is the protagonist of this image with a frame, which looks like a bright painting illuminated from behind. The light, very present but not blinding, draws dark spots that are easily identified as tables, stools and two people sitting with their cup at their disposal. Few strokes to identify a scene, splendid minimalism.

Thank you for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 9th place! The light falling from above has drawn a huge zebra crossing where three well-defined figures are walking. A minimalist and well composed image.

Thank you Charlie for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 6th place! The image of a reality full of lines and curves, where the light of the sun draws further lines and curves. The tiny cyclist seems dazed by all this geometry and undecided on where to go... A well composed picture.

The word 'photography' comes from the Greek 'photos', that means 'light' and 'graphé', that means 'drawing'. So photography is the art of drawing with light. I would like to see your best photos in black and white where you have mastered the light. Let me see how you interpret the meaning of the word 'photography', how you use the light in an artistic way. The subject can be any, but please not adult content.

Thank you for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 5th place! A mysterious image, a black strip from which geometric shapes emerge, almost like ships on the horizon. A skyline drawn by the light of the sky, wavy and vaporous, which contrasts with the rigid underlying architecture. Very well seen.

Thank you Gilbert for joining my “Photography is drawing with light (black & white)” contest and congratulations on your 7th place! The merry-go-round, which represents children's play and joy, is instead represented here in a dark, somewhat disturbing, atmosphere. Still and lonely against the black sky, the light, that caresses and draws the shapes, seems to give her life, as if something was moving behind the closed curtain.
