Portraits of People and their Environment

I love the comical look of him looking through the magnifying glass. I think the composition of everything, including the rocks on the table and with him and the posters, is well-positioned. For this contest, I think the photo works very well since it's a guy surrounded by his hobby, which probably envelops him daily, making it very much part of his environment and identity. I think the slight darkness of the lighting makes it not sad, but makes it a mood.

I love this photo. I love the composition of him being framed by the signs and other objects, all of which have writing, which brings your eyes towards him. I like the coloring, how there is a lot of it, but it isn't so bright and so prominent in the picture. It's not taking away from him, but it's still adding complexity to the image.

I love this photo. The lighting with his shadow on the wall and his positioning. I think it being a little grainy adds to the photo more than it removes. I think it would be worse if it were clear and not grainy.

I think the composition is excellent in this image in how the plane is cutting the space in half, and on the cut, the guys are leading your eyes towards him, but also around the plane. This photo is very well done.

I like this photo, especially the light, which makes the image feel half and half. I like the angle, making the viewer intrigued by what he's doing. I love how this image uses the curvature of the room to bring your eyes to the main focal point and to make us feel more connected with the image.
