Kelpie Another great angle here for the shot of this Kelpie. The space allowed at the front of the nose gives the image a sense of the horse having the opportunity for forward motion. The light enhances the mane beautifully.

Fisherman Thank you for entering the competion I love the ‘rawness’ of this photograph. The angle of the shot gives it real power. The tone used produces a stormy look to the sky that enhances the strong, sharp image of the fisherman.

Ginger I love this. In my view, it would benefit from a little more space in front of the horse to allow for a sense of forward motion, but it is a lovely capture. The choice of the specific type of Black & White adds great atmosphere.

Fernando Botero This spectacular Fernando Botero sculpture is beautifully captured here. In my opinion, it could be improved with colour, which would reveal the gorgeous bronze the Sculpter uses. However, the composition is perfectly balanced and, as the artist will have intended, it is seen within something of the context of the urban environment in which it sits.

Truth is beauty Such a powerful image. I love it’s simplicity. Given the subject is a 55 foot sculpture, it is clear that the photographer gave considerable thought to the angle of the shot. The perspective chosen draws the eye and depicts great strength in this female form. A worthy winner.

She sits cross legged This sharp photograph taken from a low position shows this sculpture well. I’m impressed that it is taken with an iPhone 7. Gives me food for thought about the equipment I really need to get a good shot!

Bronze couple still waiting This image is beautifully composed. I love the juxtaposition of the seated bronze couple and the man on the opposite side of the bench. The background of cars and conversation also add to a strong street shot.

Baby by David Cerny I looked at this shot and kept returning to it due to the beautiful capture of the afternoon light. The focus is sharp, but the dappled sunshine gives a subtlety to image. I can almost feel the warmth of the afternoon.

“To Victims of terrorism” This image is taken at a particularly good angle, and the use of light is beautiful on this great and often photographed bronze. The choice of the palm trimmed bay in the background speaks to the subject - the horror of terrorism suddenly breaking a lovely day.
